Mr. Joseph A. Florio has over 45 years of legal experience, including a distinguished career of 27 years as a federal prosecutor for the US Department of Justice where he founded Asset Forfeiture Legislation. He is licensed by the State Bars of Texas and Rhode Island in addition to the United States District Court, Western District of Texas and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Since his retirement from public service, Mr. Florio has focused his private law practice on matters of family law, specifically related to adoption and child welfare issues. His experience encompasses a wide range of familial topics including, domestic, CPS and international adoptions, step-parent/relative adoptions, gestational contracts, and embryo adoptions. He has a profound belief that life, beginning at conception, should be protected and honored and that all children deserve a loving and committed family in which to grow and thrive.
In his work with Adoption Priorities, Inc., Mr. Florio provides legal oversight for the termination of parental rights, consummation of all types of adoptions, contract agreements for the agency as well as adoptive families.
